About Us

Welcome.  Owners, Tyler and Evan, invite you to join us in our little slice of life…

Here’s Our Story…

Insomnia’s founders, Evan, Amy and Tyler, three friends standing at a crossroads in life, decided to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and open a coffeehouse.

Having Amy’s 10 years of coffee experience, Tyler’s business background, Evan’s handiwork mastery and all with a passion for coffee and community, the three were unstoppable and after a year and a half of planning, the shop took form.  They built this home-away-from-home themselves from the ground up, painting the walls, installing the pine flooring, and gathering furniture and equipment.  Grand Opening, April 13th, 2007.  With no employees, the trio ran Insomnia Coffee Company the first six months by themselves, each pulling 100 hour weeks.  As business grew, so did the Friends’ vision, adding employees and business hours…and we continue to grow

At Insomnia Coffee, we are in the business of people. We make our best effort to create a unique place where customers can socialize with each other in a comfortable, relaxing and familiar environment while enjoying the best espresso, brewed coffee or brewed tea and pastries in town…seriously, we’ve searched and found! Insomnia Coffee helps our customers relieve their daily stresses by providing peace of mind through great ambiance, easy access location, friendly customer service, and products of consistently high quality. With a convenient location, Insomnia Coffee serves customers with pleasant, quick, clean service to send them on their way in a fantastic mood.

Our MISSION STATEMENT:
Art for the sake of art.
Coffee for the sake of coffee.

As we awake each morning, we count ourselves fortunate to be honored with the task of creating amazing beverages with phenomenal products. In a world where automated systems are replacing skilled artisans, we strive to perfect the craft of specialty coffee and savor each day with which we are blessed.

During the industrialization of America, an uprising of skilled woodworkers stood against the streamlining, and ultimate cheapening of their industry’s handiwork. This “Craftsman Revolution” produced amazing and unique furniture unmatched today. Inscribed on these fine chairs and benches is the Latin phrase translated “Art for art’s sake.” Their goal was to produce their very best products because they could, not necessarily for the almighty dollar…but for the sake of the art itself.

Each of us, having worked in a corporate environment at one time or another, bent our personalities and passions to fit the required status-quo our jobs demanded. Now, inspired by the craftsman revolution, we aspire to rise above the standard and create “Art for the sake of art. Coffee for the sake of coffee.”

Take some time to look around, get to know our neat friends, grab a latte…and welcome to the world of INSOMNIA COFFEE COMPANY.

This is one of the best coffee shops that I have ever visited. The coffee is amazing, the staff is very friendly, and the pastries are delicious. It’s a great place to do some work on my laptop, just relax and read the paper, or play games with our kids. We love Insomnia!

Looking forward to the opening – we have a service office of 50-60 – half of which generally travel to get coffee every morning, we are just to your west in the Amberglen buildings – If you have Wi-Fi I suspect our staff will spend a bit of time escaping their cubes!
