Hi – thought I’d alert you to a potential problem for customers after I just spent a frustrated hour trying to locate your shop. A friend offered your shop’s name and address as a place to meet this morning. Since I had never been there, I pasted your address (checked, and it was entered correctly) into Google to get a map. Unfortunately, they are default linking your address to an incorrect location:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGLG_enFR311FR311&q=5389+W+Baseline+Rd.+Hillsboro%2c+OR++97123
If this link will resolve, you’ll see that your shop’s name is listed prominently at the top right next to the erroneous map. The link to your website is 3rd on the list…
I checked, and if I search for your shop by name, the correct location is mapped. But if I search by address, I end up with a friend sitting in your shop wondering where I am!
Guess that’s what I get when I leave my cell phone and Thomas guide at home, but perhaps I’m not the only idiot this might happen to! So, you might want to see if you can get google to fix the mapping for you.
Thanks,
Laura Barksdale

Thank you for the time of working through the address thing! I know that this is a frustrating issue with the whole “double” address thing. We have been dealing with this same ish with google for a while and that’s why we have one correct now, and one that is still on the other side of town. Are you familiar with another way on how to contact the right people at google to resolve the mix-up?
All that to say, there is nothing idiotic about your recent adventure :0) It has been happening for years. Have a great day!

Was referred to your shop by a client and from the moment I walked in, I was in love. I just stopped in to check things out/grab a caffeine refill before running errands on my lunch hour but quickly, I decided that I would much rather hang out than run boring errands! It was like taking a little vacation in 30 mins! Thank you for bringing such a comfortable place to hang out to Hillsboro… Lord knows that this place needs more!

is there any chance that i would be able to come beatbox for you guys in the future? i am 17 years old and i just started beatboxing january first, but i have gotten pretty decent because i practice every single day, im preparing for a talen show at my school which is may 27th, and being able to practice and stuff in front of an actualy crown would help me get rid of any stage fright i may have! so i was just seeing if there was any chance to make that happen? i live down the road, about a 3 minute drive. i would love to come to insomnia all the time, especially if i can participate
get back to me

I love your cafe/the artists and performers/and can’t forget the good coffee. One of my friends is a terrific artist/water color, pen and ink. How can we set up a time for her to show her art at your cafe?

Brenda, Have her check out our “music/arts” tab and at the bottom of the page there’s an email contact. We do all the booking online. Have her shoot us a couple digital photos of her artwork and we’ll see where we can fit her in.

Two things:
First, my 3 year old son LOVES your hot cocoa with chocolate whipped cream! We were out of your area and got him a Starbuck’s cocoa…He tells me he likes yours MUCH better.
Second, I’ve been wondering why almond or coconut milk isn’t used as a dairy substitute? I think it would be fun to have more than just a soy option. Plus, some people are sensitive to soy as well as dairy (guess it’s tea for them!) Is there some reason it isn’t used? Is it just not cost effective? Or is the consistency such that it doesn’t make for a very good espresso drink?
Thanks for being GREAT!
Nicki, thanks for your kind words! Just fyi, not only do we offer soy but also rice or hemp milk. We’ve found that those options are more diverse than most coffeeshops but also common enough that people are familiar. Let us know when you want to try those other milk alternatives!
